We recently welcomed Elizabeth (Buffy) Gillett to the AIG Board Chair position. Buffy has been on the AIG Board since July 2022 representing the Borroloola-Barkly Region.
A proud Yanuma/Garawa woman, Buffy is a strong woman who works closely with community members to resolve issues concerning youth, health, culture and wellbeing.
She is excited to be involved with AIG and to see the delivery of a Remote Laundry to her community this financial year.
“I like it here. I enjoy working with the AIG Board and team,” Buffy said.
“The laundry is going to be a game-changer for the health and employment opportunities for our community.”
In addition to her work with AIG, Buffy is a director for the Mabunji Resource Centre, Community Benefits Trust McArthur River Mine, Advisory for Child & Family Centre, and Ngardara Sun project and chairperson for MAWA Borroloola.
When she isn’t turning her support to her community, Buffy is spending time with her 12 children and husband, Billy, including supporting her 5 youngest children with School of the Air.
We are privileged to have Buffy on our team.
